Melissa Neeley

  
    Melissa Neeley joined 1260AM WCHV in November of 2007 as News Director.  Before moving to Charlottesville, Melissa worked as an anchor, reporter, and web writer for WHIOAM-FM, a FOX News affiliate in Dayton, Ohio.  She was a producer for their sister stations WHKO-FM and WZLR-FM.
    Before she began her on-air career, Melissa was the Marketing Director for the Arthur Murray Dance Studios.  She worked for many years as a professional ballroom competitor, teacher, and choreographer.
    Early in her career, Melissa worked as an assistant producer for E! News Daily on E!  Entertainment Television in Los Angeles.  She also worked on the news assignment desk at KTLA-TV, also in Los Angeles.
    Melissa started in radio at the age of 15 working as a DJ for her high school radio station WKET-FM in Kettering, Ohio.  At the same time she was a producer and camera operator for her local cable station, where she won the locally prestigious Arnie Award for her camera work.  Melissa was also honored with a Key Award for television production at her high school.  Additionally, she was awarded membership into Quill and Scroll the National Honor Society for High School Journalist for her work on the school newspaper.
    After high school, Melissa received her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.  She also holds a minor in Spanish, German, and Dance.  During college, Melissa held numerous leadership positions, which led her to win the prestigious Margaret Deppen Award for Outstanding Greek Leadership while serving as the President of Alpha Omicron Pi.
    When she's not pursuing the latest news story in Charlottesville, Melissa enjoys spending time with her three children, playing guitar, and sewing.
