EIGHT TRACKS ALIVE NEEDS YOU

Play On ! announces open auditions for the original musical revue, Eight-Tracks Alive, a song and dance extravaganza featuring the music of the 1970’s including 30 of the biggest pop hits from Manilow to Motown to Disco.

Director Alex Citron is looking for 6 to 8 singers (M/F) and 3 to 5 dancers (M/F) to bring these pop classics to life on Play On's stage. We especially need singers who can rock it, who can do justice to the Motown sound or can sell a power ballad.

Just a few of the great songs included in this revue are:

Enough is Enough, Mandy, Joy to the World, Fire and Rain, Midnight Train to Georgia, YMCAand Margaritaville.

Auditions for singers are on Sunday, September 30 and Monday, October 1; at 7:00 pmeach evening - you may attend either session. Auditions for dancers are only on Sunday, September 30 at 7:00. If you cannot attend scheduled auditions, please let us know and we will try to accomodate you.

SINGERS:

Please prepare a song (pop, rock, R&B, disco, country pop) - you may bring sheet music (we will have a pianist) or recorded accompaniment on a CD or iPod. Recorded accompaniment may not contain lead vocals. Sorry, but we will not hear unaccompanied singers. We have fifteen-hundred karaoke tracks available; please let us know if you want to see what we have for your use.

DANCERS:

You will be taught a brief routine which you will perform in groups and possibly individually. Dress to dance.

Yes, you may audition as both a singer and a dancer, and some cast members may do both in the show.

Performance Dates: February 1, 2, 7, 8, 9 at 8:00 pmplus February 10 at 2:00 pm.  All auditions, rehearsals and performances will be held at Play On’s Theatre at Ix; 983 Second St., S.E.  Parking is free and plentiful
