U.Va. Department of Drama presents the 2013 Spring Dance Concert, presented by Kimberly Brooks Mata and the U.Va. Dance Minor students. Playing in the Helms Theater, April 11th – 13th at 8PM, and April 13th at 2PM.
The U.Va. Spring Dance Concert features a variety of different pieces, many of which are choreographed by students in the Dance Minor, and performed by students in a variety of departments. The concert also features faculty and guest artist choreographers, as well as occasional guest dancers. The guest choreographer this year is the renowned Christopher Morgan, the founder and director of Christopher K. Morgan & Artists, a professional contemporary dance company. Morgan believes in the importance of bringing to the stage “the urgency of live performance in an increasingly isolating, commercial, and digital world.” The performance promises to be intriguing and enjoyable, with a multitude of different types of dance, music, and emotions.
