Commissioner James Stewart to Speak on Thursday
The Honorable James W. Stewart, III, Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services will be the keynote speaker at The Arc of the Piedmont’s Annual Meeting and Dinner on Thursday, May 23. He will be presenting updated information regarding the recent Department of Justice Agreement with the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Sharing the dais will be Jamie Liban, Executive Director of the Arc of Virginia. She will be presenting “The New Virginia Way,” a public awareness campaign for The Arc that will be used to help educate the public and our state legislators about the needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Arc will also be presenting its 2013 “Spirit Awards” to The Building Goodness Foundation and to Bevin and Vito Cetta, an organization and persons who have provided extensive value to the Arc and its mission.
The dinner meeting will be held at CATEC, 1000 East Rio Road in Charlottesville, from 6:00 until 8:00.
