Albemarle County Fair at the Home of James Monroe
On August 1, 2 & 3 the Albemarle County Fair will take place at Ash Lawn-Highland, the Home of James Monroe. Ash Lawn-Highland is pleased to host the event for the fair’s second year in this location. Last year’s fair was a success, and this year brings extended hours and an expanded set of offerings.
Ash Lawn-Highland will offer incentive ticket prices to encourage fair attendees to visit the home of James Monroe and experience the new house tour, which was revised in the spring of 2013. Local residents normally receive discounted admission for house tours. During this year’s fair, tickets to tour the home of James Monroe and walk the grounds will be further discounted for residents of Charlottesville, Albemarle, and eight surrounding counties.
Residents of Charlottesville, Albemarle County, and eight surrounding counties can sign up for tours given during fair hours for the price of $7.00 per person. Youth tickets will also be discounted to $7.00. Discounted tour hours are as follows:
Thursday, August 1: 4:00pm to 6:00pm
Friday, August 2: 9:00am to 6:00pm
Saturday, August 3: 9:00am to 6:00pm
Ash Lawn-Highland encourages the public to visit the Fair, and on the same visit sign up for a tour of the home of James Monroe to learn more about the accomplishments of the 5th U. S. president.
