Charlottesville Municipal Band will present its Ninety-First Fall Concert on Sunday, October 20 at 3:30 pm on the Main Stage Theater of the Dickinson building on the campus of Piedmont Virginia Community College. The FREE program will include transcriptions of Aaron Copland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man” and portions of Ottorino Respighi’s “Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite No. 3.” as well as selections from the popular and jazz genres. These include: Leonard Benstein’s “America” from West Side Story, “Benny Goodman: King of Swing” featuring Charlottesville native James Tobin as the clarinet soloist and “Blue Moon” with tenor and soprano saxophone soloist Michael Elswick.
