The Charlottesville Police Department is investigating a vehicle crash and assault that occurred on Friday evening near the Jefferson School on Fourth Street NW.
According to police, officers responded to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at approximately 6:30 pm — witnesses told officers that a female juvenile unexpectedly ran into the street after a disorder involving a group near the school when she was hit by the vehicle — the elderly male driver remained at the scene of the crash and was also assaulted.
Both the girl and the driver were taken to the UVA Health System for treatment of injuries and have since been released — anyone with information on the incident should call the Charlottesville Police at (434) 970-3280 or CrimeStoppers at (434) 977-4000.
