Police Investigate Combination Crash & Assault

The Charlottesville Police Department is investigating a vehicle crash and assault that occurred on Friday evening near the Jefferson School on Fourth Street NW.
According to police, officers responded to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at approximately 6:30 pm — witnesses told officers that a female juvenile unexpectedly ran into the street after a disorder involving a group near the school when she was hit by the vehicle — the elderly male driver remained at the scene of the crash and was also assaulted.
