A multi-million-dollar bond referendum has allowed the newly renovated Woodbrook Elementary School begin its first day of classes on Thursday with 160 new re-districted students.
Albemarle County’s new School Superindendant Matthew Haas is excited about his new position as well as the recent improvements to Woodbrook and the entire Albemarle school system:
Dr. Mathew Haas: “We have 25 schools and we enhanced all the entrances so the traffic has to go through the main office instead of just opening straight into the school. We’re ranked in the top two percent of school divisions in the country right now – so, we’re in a great place…it’s a great way to start the school year with that kind of news.”
