On Wednesday, the Albemarle County Service Authority issued an advisory to its Crozet customers that a new pump station will be starting up at 8am on Thursday for a 30-day test period.
The increased flow rate caused by the start-up could result in discolored water in both commercial locations and residential households that may last for a couple of days.
Officials at the Service Authority suggest that residents should run the tap water in a bathtub or shower until it runs clear – and if the discoloration persists to contact the Service Authority.
