Charlottesville Spent Over $900,000 Dollars August 12th

The City of Charlottesville has calculated expenses of more than $921,000 on its preparations and response to the anniversary weekend of Aug. 12th in Charlottesville.
According to a release, the city spent more than $611,000 on personnel, $188,000 on materials and contractual services, and $122,000 on mutual aid reimbursements to other local governments — and the personnel estimate includes overtime and emergency pay.
The city’s spending for the actual event on Aug. 12th last year, was only about $300,000.
