E-Scooter Pilot Program: Off And Running

Charlottesville officials are taking a closer look at the recently initiated impact of electric scooter ride-sharing on transportation in the city.
A pilot program of regulations quickly cleared approval at City Council’s Monday night meeting allowing riders to pay a fee to rent the scooters via a mobile app on their phones and then leave the two-wheeled personal transports for the next person to use.
The regulations prohibit the scooters from certain areas like the Downtown Mall and specify designated parking areas around the city – the pilot program will expire July 19th.
