Albemarle Couple Charged With Abuse

Two Albemarle County parents who adopted 10 children from South America are facing charges of child abuse dating back to the 1990s.

William Gray Hill and Caren Hill were indicted Oct. 2

William Hill is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery on a person under the age of 13 and one count of child abuse that allegedly occurred between 1992 and 2000.

Caren is charged with one count of child abuse that allegedly occurred between 1992 and 2000.

In an emailed statement, the Hills maintain their innocence of the charges.

The pair is due to appear Monday in Albemarle County Circuit Court.
