The Rivanna Solid Waste Authority has announced its fall special collections dates for household hazardous waste, commercial hazardous waste and bulky waste amnesty days.
Charlottesville, Scottsville and Albemarle County residents can bring household hazardous waste items to the Ivy Material Utilization Center on Dick Woods Road on Sept. 28th and 29th and bulky waste items on October 6th, 13th and 20th.
Acceptable appliances include refrigerators, mattresses, furniture and tires.
Businesses looking to dispose of commercial hazardous waste must pre-register by Sept. 18 to get an appointment for drop-off on September 27th only — to register, business owners should call 800-494-2273 / for more info, residents can call 434-977-2970.
