Public Comment Period To Open For Orange County Solar Project

There is a proposed solar farm project in Orange County, and a public comment period about it opens next week.

The 62.5 megawatt project would be located in eastern Orange County on Route 20. It would be on a 400-acre piece of land and could produce enough energy to power more than 10,000 single-family homes.

Cypress Creek Renewables will be conducting a 30-day public comment period and public input session on the project beginning Dec. 28.

The company says the purpose of this public participation period is to inform the public of technical aspects of the proposed project and how permitting standards will be met.

A public input session will be held Jan. 15 at the Wilderness Branch Library in Locust Grove, beginning at 1 p.m.
