The Virginia Department of Transportation says the bridge over the Rivanna River on Proffit Road in Albemarle County reopened Tuesday afternoon.
The bridge was supposed to be closed all week while crews worked to remove debris that had washed up against the bridge in recent storms. The work was completed ahead of schedule.
