New Cavity Treatment For The Very Young

Local children’s dentists are talking about a new treatment that helps them deal with cavities in young children.

The treatment is a liquid that’s placed on the cavity and allows the child to get a little older before the cavity has to be treated.

Doctor Joe Castellano with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry says it’s a liquid that’s placed on the cavity.
The only downside is that the cavity area turns black.

Doctor Castellano says a first dental visit at age-one is critical to future dental health.

He also says nursing bottles sent to bed with young children should never contain anything but water, and older kids should avoid sugary snacks like fruit pouches and granola bars.
