The Virginia department of Transportation is announcing a part of Route 250/Ivy Road will be closing in June for some underground repairs.
Starting at 10AM on Wednesday, June 12th, VDOT will close Route 250 to through traffic while work crews replace a large pipe just East of Tilman road, and reopen by 4AM on Thursday, June 13, weather permitting.
Crews will have to dig the old pipe out, install the new one, backfill the excavation and resurface the road
The work has been scheduled to avoid both rush hours, but due to the significant digging involved, it is not feasible to keep one lane open.
VDOT advises drivers to use Route 738/Morgantown Road to get around the closure.
